dB7-R Bite Alarm Operation & Use

Getting to know your dB7-R Bite Alarms.

BATTERY FITMENT/REPLACEMENT

Start by removing the small screw from the back of the battery cover with the screwdriver provided, and carefully slide down the rear cover to remove from the alarm casing. Insert 1 x 9v PP3 battery noting the polarity shown on the connection terminals. The alarm speaker will sound, and LEDs will flash twice once the battery is fitted. Replace the battery cover ensuring it slides back into the correct position to align the rubber seal, then secure in place with a screw. We recommend the use of well-known battery brands; quality batteries will ensure the best operation of the product.

SWITCHING ON/OFF

To turn the dB7-R Alarm on, single press the power button and release, then press and hold the power button for 3 seconds; LED’s will flash twice, and alarm speaker will sound twice. To turn the dB7-R Alarm off, press and hold the power button for 3 seconds; LED’s will stay solid and alarm speaker will sound continuously for 2 seconds.

VOLUME CONTROL

To increase the volume, turn the dial clockwise to cycle through each volume setting (8 settings). The lowest setting is silent.

TONE CONTROL

To change the tone, turn the dial clockwise to increase the pitch of each tone setting (8 settings) from dull to high, the alarm speaker will signal the desired tone by rotating the alarm roller wheel (The alarm head will be on the lowest tone when the dial will not move anymore anti clockwise, and on the highest setting when the dial will not turn any further clockwise).

SENSITIVITY CONTROL

To change the sensitivity, turn the dial clockwise to increase the sensitivity of each alarm head from low to high sensitivity (8 settings), to test the desired sensitivity rotate the alarm roller wheel (The alarm head will be on the lowest sensitivity when the dial will not move any further anti clockwise, and on the highest setting when the dial will not turn any further clockwise).

ISM (INTELLISENSE MODE)

This feature is programmed into all sensitivity settings on the dB7-R alarm. This mode requires a pre-determined amount of line to pass through the roller wheel before a bleep. Once the set distance of line movement passes the roller wheel, the alarm bleeps, and automatically adjusts internally to high sensitivity transmitting essential bite information back to you. If no further movement on the line occurs after the initial bleep, the alarm will return to the standard sensitivity mode set on the adjustment wheel after the 15 second latching LED sequence.

EXAMPLE LINE DISTANCE SETTINGS:

Sensitivity setting 1 (lowest) – 15cm of line movement

Sensitivity setting 2 – 10cm of line movement

This function eliminates false indications, allowing you to fish effectively in extremes. Combat crashing waves, high winds, and boat fishing scenarios without compromising vital indication information when it’s needed most.

NIGHT LIGHT FUNCTION

To activate the night light, single press the power button once. The LED’s will illuminate on a low brightness setting (25%). To deactivate the night light, single press the power button. The LED’s will stop illuminating the low brightness setting.

LED COLOUR SELECTION

To change the LED colour on the dB7-R alarm, double tap the power button to enter the selection mode. Press the power button again to cycle through the colour options. When the desired colour has been selected, leave the alarm for a few moments and the change will be confirmed. The dB7-R Receiver will automatically be updated after any changes made on the alarm.

EXTENSION OUT SOCKET/ILLUMINATED SWINGER

Located on the underside of the alarm this is compatible with most illuminated indicators with 2.5mm jack plug connection, the illuminated indicator should follow the Alarm Head LED functions.

FUNCTIONS IN USE

The dB7-R will remain on the function modes set by the user, unless the user changes the Volume, Tone, or Sensitivity while in use. The LED’s will remain illuminated for 15 seconds after activation for both forward and drop back movement. The alarm will indicate a higher pitch tone and the LED’s will be solid for a forward movement, and a lower pitch tone and the LED’s will flash for a drop back movement. The alarm head will stay programmed into the receiver in the event of disconnecting or changing the battery.

LOW BATTERY WARNING

When the low battery voltage is detected, the right LED will flash once and continuously flash every 5 seconds until the battery is flat or replaced with a new battery (Please note the alarm head will still function correctly until the battery is flat).
