Favourite Style of Carp Fishing - My fishing styles really come down to the venue I'm fishing. If baiting and waiting works, I’m happy to set out and wait for the fish to turn up to the party, or if moving to find them tucked up in a corner or off the back of the wind then again it's a case of I'm moving. I really let the session I'm fishing to try and tell me this.  I find this can work well especially on large pits such as Nene Valley. I fish for big carp, old carp and tricky venues so it really is just a case of what takes my fancy on that trip out. I fish all year round and love nothing more than to catch a winter carp.

I’m a passionate carp angler and family man based in the midlands area of the UK. I've fished near enough my whole life, starting with my father on the canals, progressing in to match angling along with predator and, of course, my beloved carp angling.

Carp angling is where my heart is at and as the years passed that deep inner passion lead me to where I am today. My fishing nowadays consists of different venues, tactics and water types. From the large gravel pits to the small, intimate clay pits, big carp to very old ones they all have a place in my heart.

I’m an active angler and always looking for the next move, catching is my key and that’s what I like to do so, if it's not happing for me, I'll get up and move to try and get that chance of making the difference to that session I'm on. Baiting up hard with 3 rods on a spot, to lowering baits into the margins and for me it’s about what's working on that day for catching fish that makes the session a success.

Best piece of angling advice:

Have a clear mindset, but also open minded on what your going fishing for. Just because you didn’t get your favourite swim, or get your favourite lake, still go and enjoy your fishing. Do it for yourself first of all, and let the rest come as you go along.
