With 70 employees and offices / warehouses in Sheffield, UK and Malacky, Slovakia we dispatch our goods through our B2B channels to a diverse account base of 800 customers with around 1300 active products across a wide variety of product categories. We strive to be the best overall supplier within our market and value product innovation, great service, strong communication and a collaborative approach to achieving our realistic, but ambitious goals.

Overview:

Reporting into Cipher’s CEO, the Head of UK Sales role would suit an ambitious, highly motivated & organised individual who will be responsible for driving sales growth and market expansion across the UK. This role involves developing and implementing strategic sales plans, forging strong relationships at all levels, managing & visiting key customers and leading a team of sales professionals.

The successful candidate must be an angler, be willing to travel, be a skilful communicator, have a deep understanding of the angling market and have a proven track record in a high-tempo competitive sales environment, with both field sales and field sales management experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for the UK market to align with and exceed the company’s goals and targets.

  • Identify market opportunities and establish plans to penetrate new and emerging markets.

  • Set and achieve sales targets in line with company objectives.

  • Lead, motivate, and manage a team of regional territory account managers.

  • Provide coaching, training and development within the sales team.

  • Monitor team performance and implement performance and process improvement plans as necessary.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders.

  • Conduct regular meetings with major partners to ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Negotiate contracts and trading terms to allow the business to deliver profit targets.

  • Be immersed in market trends, retailer performance, competitor activity, and customer needs.

  • Provide regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and forecasts to the senior management team.

  • Suggest commercial strategy adjustments based on market intelligence and customer feedback.

  • Work closely with marketing, product development, customer service and finance teams to align efforts and always ensure customer satisfaction and high service levels.

  • Coordinate with the Head of European sales to share best practices and optimise overall company sales performance.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience within a comparable sales management role with previous field sales experience.

  • Based in the UK.

  • Must be able to travel with overnight stays during the week.

  • The role will also include some weekend work & travel.
